Toyota dealer asked me to program a remote. This 07 Corolla wasn't factory setup with keyless remote. The car won't crank. I found that a Pursuit Pro had been partially removed with clipped wires everywhere. I don't have the Audio Vox Pursuit Pro 9642CH installation instructions to follow the trail and couldn't find a valet button or toggle anywhere under the dash. The transponder security light goes off as it should when inserted but the car won't start. Battery is good. The dealer said they just moved it today.

I couldn't find the main control box but did see a loose relay up close to the back of the dimmer switch on the left of the steering. The wiring from it leads to the back of the ignition switch. The relay had 2 wires leading to it that had been clipped.

Anyone familiar with the Pursuit wiring on the Toyota Corolla? Or maybe installation instructions?

Johnny

The search feature on their site works very poorly. You can't use hyphens or spaces.

Search for PRO9642CH and if that doesn't work, just search for PRO9642. That's the older model, but the wiring is the same.

But, that alarm isn't anything unusual or special. The starter kill relay is separate from the brain, a regular starter kill relay like with any other kind of alarm.

Take of the steering column cover (three screws), and you'll probably find that the car's red starter wire has been cut in half, and is running to the starter kill relay.

Just cut the relay away, and re-connect the two halves of the Toyota's red starter wire.

Found the problem right where you said it would be. Reconnected the starter wire and off she went.

Thanks for your help!!
