Observe the small red dot in the dashboard, which is the security light.

Wnen you get a failed remote start, does the light come on steady and go out like it should, or is it flashing?

Alternately, temporarily unplug the bypass module, and simply leave the key in the ignition. (Obviously you wouldn't do this every day, just for testing.)

If the remote starter works reliably with the key in the ignition, then you know you have to go back and work on your bypass some more.

On the other hand, if the key in the ignition doesn't fix it, the problem must be somewhere else.
