I have a Matrix RSX 3.5 that I have the remote start was working well.

Now, When I press the remote start button twice the truck starts and runs for about 20 seconds and then shuts down, cranks back up and then shuts down again. this happens for three cycles.

Now just yesterday it starts up without me pushing anything. Starting up at 3 am and I have loud exhaust, I go running out with my .40 Cal buddy and find it running a cycle. On and off three times then nothing for about 4 hours then another cycle...

What could be the issue?

The shop that inatalled the device is now of course out of business,,

one more thing that bugs me about the 3.5.... My door locks do not lock when I crank the truck but when I turn off the ignition they pop up as if they were locked. The shop was not around long after the install so this was not an issue I could get looked at.

And one last thing: How can I increase the runtime on the turbo timer?

Thank you for your future help

Robert

Houston, We have a problem.

I am not familiar with that RS unit, but if you can find your manual, it sounds like it somehow got switched to timer mode. Some units also have temperature sensors, when they get to below freezing for a couple hours, they start up every few hours to avoid freeze-up. If you are in Houston this is not your issue, if working away from home in Anchorage, maybe so. Check on the timer mode thing. Maybe one of the others can help you out with instructions to get it out of that mode.

I have been able to find a manual for it yet.

I have thought about just replacing it since it is acting like this.

How do you put one in timer mode anyway?
