It shouldn't make any difference if correctly installed, try current draw test on the battery and work back via the fuses etc 'til you find the culprit, I'm guessing but the R/S draw at rest should be in the region of about 5miiliamps or 30milliamps if it's an Alarm + R/S

you need to put diodes inline with the doorlocks or else the gem will not go to sleep and kill the battery. after that is done there should be no problem. 1 amp diodes will do fine.

is it only on the new fords?  i have only had issues with an 08 explorer and 07 sport trac.  I have called code and dei and no one has ever mentioned this

I've never ran into it myself, but this has been mentioned at least a few times on this forum, on late-model Explorers.

do you just have to put them inline with the remote start lock wires, or do you have to put them inline with the factory wires

put them inline with the r/s lock wires. it will take care of the problem.
