Hi, I installed a audiovox aps997 in a 05 accord a few months back. Everything worked well then my brother wanted me to hook up the factory alarm also. Now when you disarm the system the doors don't always unlock if its running under remote start.any help would be greatful.

Just messed with it again. If i disconnect the factory disarm the locks work fine. For factory disarm i used the white in the drivers lock/unlock button and RED / white for arm. For the power locks i used pink/black for lock and pink/blue for unlock at the fuse pannel.

It should be a WHITE/ red wire for arm.

What wire are you using off of Audiovox remote start/alarm to disarm the factory alarm system?

sorry meant WHITE/ red. Off the audiovox for disarm i am using BLACK/ blue pulsed ground output before start.

That's good.

Are you using 2 diodes to isolate lock wire & arm wire?

no i am not. put one diode for arm and one diode for lock? leave the unlock alone?

Yes,  leave the unlock alone.

One diode for arm & one diode for lock w/both lines of diodes facing towards APS-997.

I'm not sure that will solve your problem, but try it.

I've done many Honda's this way & never had a problem.

Just thought of something else. This will solve your problem.

You need to double pulse the unlock wire.

That is in programming features. Let me know if you need help with that.

It won't hurt anything.

Try it & let me know what happens.

double pulse unlock seems to be working. Heres what stumped me before is that before sometimes it would unlock fine, sometimes it wouldnt. Once i disconected the factory disarm it was perfect. should i try and meter the BLACK/ red in the door unlock switch? could that be any diffrent. Also since i installed this someone else messed with it. When i just looked at the lock unlock wires coming from the fuse panel i noticed there coming out of the fuse panel straight to the lock unlock wires. Someone cut the wire's and only hooked the alarm lock unlock to the fuse panel where i had it T'd into the wires. Think that could be part of my problem?

Those are common symptoms in that particular car: Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't.

What you did solved the unlocking problem.

Put the car back together & you're done.

Can you just tell me if the door locks are wired right. From the aps-997 the green wire is to the pink/black at the fuse panel. And the red from the aps-997 is to the pink/blue. witch i might be wrong but the diagram on here for my car says the pink/black pink/blue should be a -. And if im not mistaken the way its wired the alarm would give a + pulse.

Your wires are reversed. You didn't hurt anything.

The red (lock) of APS-997should go to pink/black in the car.

The green (lock) of APS-997 should go to pink/blue in the car.

It's not giving a + pulse, because it will only accept a - pulse.

could this be causing my problem? maybe now that i have a neg trigger to the factory disarm there messing eachother up?

Try connecting everything correctly & see what happens.

The red (lock) (pulsed -) of APS-997should go to pink/black in the car.

The green (lock) (pulsed -) of APS-997 should go to pink/blue in the car.

Fixed all the wiring for the door locks. Still in the same boat. The double pulse will unlock it well say 2 outa 4 times. this is driving me nuts.

Did you solder the wires? Maybe you have a bad connection somewhere. If not soldered, redo all the connections.

Have you got the 2 diodes installed to isolate lock & arm?

I'll think about it & try to figure out what's wrong. Locks should work fine. I've done it that way many times.

was chatting with a friend he suggested this. He says try and not use the red lock and green unlock and use the BLACK/ blue and BLACK/ green for arm disarm as well as to the pink/blu pink/plack. seems to think if i use one circuit it will work. What do you think?

You can certainly try that. You won't hurt anything.

I'll be busy today, but will try to help more tonight or tomorrow.

well that didnt work either. I think my problem is the knob cylinder switch. reason i think that is because if i pull up the drivers lock manually then hit disarm the locks work fine. just not sure how i should wire into that.

Did you try adding a relay to your unlock wire to provide a stronger ground.  Some Accords of that generation need a stronger ground pulse than your unit can provide. I myself have added a relay in here and there when a customer complains about the car intermittly unlocking.  I add the relay and all problems solved.

can you please just tell me how to wire up the relay? i will try this. Thanks

Pin 85 goes to unlock wire of remote start

Pin 86 goes to 12V+ constant

Pin 87 = Ground

Pin 30 to door unlock wire
