I have a previously used 771xv I'm getting ready to install into an impreza this weekend and I was wondering if I could use an sst antenna I have sitting in my toolbox from a 5900 to possibly help with the range. I don't expect to get a mile out of it but a little boost wouldn't hurt.
If it won't augment the reception does anyone know if it will even work at all? The adhesive on the 771's original antenna is shot and the sst antenna's never been used.
I'll probably end up tossing it in this weekend and testing it out either way but I thought I'd check to see if anyone had any experience or even educated guesses on the matter.

it will work but you need the sst remotes to work with it.

So it will work with the 771's remote fine it just won't get any better range, right?

That's what I was afraid of. Like I said I'll try it but I have a feeling it probably won't work at all. I'll just have to refresh my double sided tape.
