I installed a remote starter into a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up, but it won't crank, I programmed the transponder part right because after I was done, I took the transponder chip out of the key, put a ground on the xpressit unit and started the truck with the key no problem.  Then I double checked my wiring to the bypass unit it has a constant 12v on the red wire, the green wire gets 12v from the starter unit during crank, pink wire gets 12v from ign, and the purple wire is hooked upto one side of cut purple with brown mux wire right behind switch and the purple with white wire hooks up to the other cut purple with brown mux wire, I even tried reversing the purple wires still nothing.  The way I programmed the mux part is it says to put 1 key in ign the turn on then off then remote start truck, still no crank

sorry there is also a ground on the bypass and the ground out when running gets a ground out from the starter unit as soon as I press start

might sound dumb, but did you use solder on the mux wires?  the bcm has to see the proper voltage so a good connection is important.  unless your bypass module is a dud but thats not too likely

How many keys did you use to program?  The only reason Im asking is the last sentence you wrote "The way I programmed the mux part is it says to put 1 key in ign the turn on then off then remote start truck, still no crank  ".  You need 2 valid keys to program the module?  What happens when you try to R/S the truck in current set-up?  Does the  security light  in the dash flash, stay on,  come on go out?  Did you try putting a key in the switch(dont turn just set it in) to see if would start?  This would tell you if you have a Sentry  immobilzer problem or a bypass module problem.

solder was used on the mux

I just want to clarify. The vehicle will start manually but, will not remote start?

To clarify again, you manually started the vehicle? Did you also try remote starting, while manually grounding the GWR wire?

Which R/S product are you using? If the above clarification are true, it may point to the R/S product. Possibly, the R/S product is not seeing the inputs it needs to operate.

Yes the truck will start with the key, but won' t with the transmitter from the remote starter, the unit is a prostart CT-3471 2 way this unit is made by autostart which is owned by directed electronics.  I have installed dozens of these units and never had any problems, all the outputs from the starter unit are good.  the gwr wire sees a ground when the transmitter is pressed

Did you the connect the disarm wire from the rs to the bypass module ?

yes the disarm wire was hooked upto the truck

It ended up the bypass mod was faulty, tech said to send it back and they will fix or replace it

I received the bypass unit back today, I opened it up and it looks like all they did was solder a resistor between 2 of the output wires, it works, I will have to remember that for next time, thanks to everyone who replied

Did you take any pics of the board...what value of resistor did they use? Everytime i do one of these damn chrysler vehicles, i end up having to wire my own relays to the mux wire for one reason or another. Just did an 08 avenger the other day, and the module would not kick on the climate controls. Did an 07 ram not too long ago, and the truck wouldn't start with the module....same as yours. I use relays to the mux, and everything works fine. i've used bypasskit stuff ( same module you used) and fortin stuff with the same results.

they used a 1000 ohm resistor across the ground input (black) and the starter input (green), the reason they did this was to bring the starter wire to a ground referance when not cranking, also you have to connect to the mux wire as close to the wires coming out of the ign switch as possible, this is very important, on the ram, the connection has to be connected between the switch and the transponder loop wire, it is usually in a black tube
