Factory alarm in my 01 Jetta will sound off randomly when the car is locked.  Would like to just disable the alarm - don't need it on this car.  Any ideas on a simple way to disconnect / disable the alarm?

Thanks

Assuming North American models have a black box adjacent to steering column with 2 plugs, if one plug it's an aftermarket but let's concentrate on 2 plug black box held by 2 screws from underneath, brass coloured,  early versions were Philips head,  later versions T20.

Cut BLACK/ green and BLACK/ white indicators,  cut the central wire on the bigger plug, yellow/something?  Siren,  cut the  coax cable going to the big plug ultrasonics or pull out from sensors in headlining above B posts. Don't cut any others it's linked to the engine management
