Hello Folks, just got an 1100F for a remote start in a 2006 Tribute. I know I need a keysense to shut down the transponder when the actual key is in, but I am confused a bit.. The 1100F takes some RX and TX data signal wires, does that replace the "old style" Keysense? Or am I missing something.. IN other words, all I need on this 1100F is RX/TX/GND and Ignition? Or do I need to grab key sense also?

Thanks
-Roger

There have been reports of problems when using an RF bypass module on a Tribute/Escape(i.e. one that uses its own transponder or a vehicle key).

When the remote start is activated with a key in the ignition, the vehicle would read two separate transponder codes at the same time and either display a "service" light or go into some kind of protection mode where it wouldn't start for a while(I never personally experienced this so I can't identify the specific problem). The solution to this was a relay activated by the keysense wire that would interrupt the bypass when a key was in the ignition. This shouldn't be a problem with a data bypass, however.

I see.. Another question, with the DEI 1100F Is the GWR lead an output or a turn on for the 1100F.. Or does the 1100F turn on when it see's ignition? The directions are insanely vague.

Thanks
