My friend has 2000 Hyundai elantra and he wants me to put in either a keyless entry or a remote starter. How hard is it to work on this car? Thanks

Also, doe sthis car have an immobilizer? What kind of bypass should I use in cas it does have one. Thanks.

you can create an account on hmaservice.com (hyundai motors america technical info website). that way you'll have access to all shop manuals and wiring diagrams for pretty much all hyundai vehicles. and no, you don't have to be a dealer employee to create an account...

No immobilizer on this car, so no worries about that, but.....

I've done a 2005 elantra, pretty easy car, but this 2000 model looks like more work. In order to lock and unlock the doors(keyless entry) you need to add an actuator in the drivers door.  When the one actuator looks the drivers door, the others will follow. When same actuator unlocks the drivers door the rest will follow also.  So you will need to run 2 wires into the drivers door and mount an actuator in there. If the keyless entry you use or remote starter you use doesn't have onboard relays you will need to add that into the equation also.
