Hello

I have an Astrostart 2205 installed in a diesel Ford Excursion that worked great for a couple of years and now it only rolls the engine over and doesn't start. Is there anything I can look for?

Was the truck recently serviced for an ignition problem?

It sounds like an ignition wire isn't being powered up. Either that or your tach signal has failed.  Also do you have a chip in the key? If so you definately want to check out the key module and make sure it's reading the key properly. The easiest way to check that is to put your key into the ignition and remote start the truck. If it starts then your problem is the key.

IMPORTANT: If your truck doesn't start with the key in the ignition when remote started, press the brake and then start your truck with the key only to be sure the programming isn't lost.

Thanks for the reply, I don't think there is a chip in the key. Truck is a 2003 Ford Excursion. Also, no ignition problems.

Find the brain under the dash. Locate the LED on the brain (get it so you can SEE it) Push the start button, when it does NOT start, count the flashes on the LED.

Post the number...
