ok i just installed my alarm(probably my 50th alarm install ive done), its a motiontek mt8000r or somethin like that, an ebay purchase with absolutely no support. only got it because of the keyless entry, remote start, turbo timer, and two-way lcd pager that ranges upto 1000m. first i muffed the remote start part, it cranks but never actually starts. I think I know the remedy to that specific problem. I ran the tach wire for the alarm to the instrument cluster(supposed to have been the signal wire for the tach, it is...but dont work right) instead of to the coil. gonna fix that soon.

but the problem that kinda bothers me that I dont know why it does it. is when the doors open, alarm off the hazards flash exactly 15 times. same with when I get the key turned to accessory-on-start until the car actually starts. I guess its a nice kind of safety feature, but its annoying and i keep getting unwanted attention from the authorities. there is nothing in the manual that comes with the alarm that says anything about this "safety feature" and Ive gone over the wiring tons of times and have everything right except the tach wire. im sure that wire wouldnt have anything to do with the hazards goin everytime i open the door or turn my key in the ignition. any ideas anyone?
