Hey everyone... i have a 2004 f150 supercrew and i just installed a 5601 viper alarm system. I have a tilt sensor (i assume its working fine but i havent tested it) and i put on a 508d proximity sensor which i havent been having good luck with. The guy that installed it was realy stupid and put it in with the screws facing the outside of the car... and didnt adjust anything. so i first had to find it.. it was under my center console and i repositioned it and adjusted it(he didnt do that either) and it still isnt working very well so im trying to find a better place to put it...
i have tinted windows so im worried.. :S
also im just wondering but what does the factory adjust button do?

Place it in the roof lining, obviously facing down and remember fine adjustment and the possibility of re-adjustment in a week's time is the be-all and end-all of this unit.

alrighty... the other problem is that i have the warm away turn all the way up and it still never goes off.. :S even if its sitting on top of my council.. shouldn't it be more powerful than that?

5601 Viper in a 2004 f150
Hey, so I just fixed my shock sensor and proximity sensor and i went to remote start it and now it doesnt work. i push the engine start button and nothing happens for a few seconds and then the parking lights flash like 7-8 times. what could this be?! could i have pulled a wire out or blew a fuse when messing around with the placement of the brain?
I read that i could have sent it to manual transmission mode? :S could this be? please let me know of any help you have!

So I walked out to my car this morning, pushed the unlock button on my key remote... NOTHING happened. Tried the remote start button, nothing happened. nothing on the key remote worked. but i looked in and the led was still flashing on the antenna so its not like the power was off. So i had to unlock with the key less entry on the door and the alarm when off. and i used override and went to school. WHAT could cause this? could a wire be pulled out on the brain? PLEASE let me know! Thanks so much.

a dead transmitter battery or the antenna being unplugged from the main unit could cause that

the thing is the led ON the antenna was still blinking... :S are their two wires one to the antenna one to the led?
