Hello all,

I am having a hell of a time isolating the door triggers on a 2006 escalade ext.  The two rear doors wires I picked up at the BCM and put diode on each with band toward door trigger according to diagram here https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp for isolating negative door triggers.  I thought with this setup that only negative signal would pass through the diode but when I put my MM on the wire (with diode as show) it shows a steady 11+ volts.  If i hok this up to the alarm  negative input trigger it arms ok and trigger as it should.  The alarm is the Autopgae RS-1000.

The front doors wires I had to grab from the doors and with same diode setup is confusing.  They sit at 9+ volts when the doors are closed and after about a min drops to 4+ volts that triggers the alarm with or without diodes.  the driver side door with the diode is acting wierd.  It shows no volts with the band toward diode which is the way I thought the diodes shoud work but all the other doors with the same diode setup let the positive voltage throught.  If I don't hook the front doors uo all work ok.  Any ideas?  I am using diode with rat shack prt # 276-1101.

Any idea would be appreciated.

Thanks

ok, I must have the wrong diode.  I unhook all the door triggers and removed the diodes.  I then put a new diode on each trigger and no matter what way the diode band is facing, I am getting voltage on the other end.  I am returning the balance and am now curious as hell because I used these elsewhere in my install on this ext so i will start replacing them all. crap...

Those diodes are fine. I doubt they were defective in any way, when you purchased them.

The driver's door is GRAY/BLACK (-) at the driver's door module in the driver's door. The passenger's door is BLACK/ WHITE (-) at the passenger door module in the passenger's door. The driver's and passenger's rear doors are LIGHT BLUE/BLACK (-) and LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK (-), respectively. Both wires are PURPLE at the BCM, pin A3 and pin A2 respectively. All the wires must be diode isolated.

Either run a wire from the alarm to each door or, for the rear doors, 1 wire to the BCM. At the end of each wire, place a diode and face the band away from the alarm. If using the rear door wires at the BCM, attach 1 diode, with the band facing away from the alarm, to each of the BCM A2 and A3 PURPLE wires.

The two rear doors wires are not purple at the bcm.  The bcm plug in which they are located is purple.  I have the right wires and the two rear door hooked to the system works fine but as soon as any of the front doors are hooked up it triggers when arm after a min or so.  this is because the two front doors and only the two front doors drop voltage from 9+ to 4+ volts after about a min whether or not it has a diode across it.  If my door is open, it triggers the factory alarm but not the rs-1000, the rear doors however trigger both alarms when opened.

any more ideas

I'm sorry. I was in a hurry to get out this morning. You're correct. The plug is PURPLE and not the wires.

  • Are your individual door-ajar indicators in the dash functioning properly, with/without the alarm wires are connected?
  • You're you using the diodes in-line with the alarm wire and not in-line with the door trigger wire, correct?

I don't understand why a positive voltage is triggering a ground input, especially when it's diode isolated. I wish I could be of further help.

What kind of alarm? Are you doing a remote start with it? Are you using any kind of doorlock module?

There are many easier ways to get a door trigger than to do all that work.

If you are using a doorlock module, many (most) of them provide a door trigger output for the alarm.

If you're in the habit of leaving your domelight enabled, you could just use the domelight wire going up to the headliner to catch all doors.

I am doing RS and AL with Auotpage RS-1000 with data module XK01 and the all door trigger on it does not work it jujst sits at 10 volts regardless of what my doors do, it has the latest firmware.  My domelight super wire is connected.  I have a 45 sec delay programmed for DL super.  I have a positive and Negative door trigger wire and if the neg is connected to dl super it triggers the alarm after a min of arming.  If the positive is hooked up it gives a door ajar warning when armed.

I hate leaving my dl on but shoot I can't even get it going that route.  i bought that data module for this reason but it sucks.  I will see if i can find another.

IMHO, the XK is a real POS. I know you have a ton of time invested, but your best bet is to get a new data module. Try Idatalink, they work great...

Yeah, I just ordered a datalink which can do D2D directly to my RS/alarm system.  I pick up some other stuff I was waiting on like Digital tilt sensor and backup alarm from DEI.  I got other toys to install so the only thing is my truck been garage for a week, lol.  Another week won't kill me I guesss.

Thanks

picked up that idatalink module and it works flawless. lol  four wires and I was done as I just connected it data to data.
