installed a prestige remote starter in a 2001 nissan maxima a while back, using a 556u bypass, everything worked flawlessly, i have one problem though, the customer says, that during the first remote start sequence in the morning the vehicle will crank but not turn over, but once he starts with the key it works everytime after that during the day, everything is wired, tach connected and learnt, cold start relay wired, as i said it works, it just doesn't the first thing in the morning, anyone have any tips as to what i can try, i'm thinking it's the temperature that's causing the bypass to not work properly but i'm not sure as it isn't that cold in the caribbean, but it can get pretty chilly in the mornings, especially duing this time of the year, and he says he performs the first remote start normally around 4:45 am, i've told him to try the first sequence a little later in the day when the atmosphere has warmed up a bit to verify if it is a temperature issue, but i just wanted to know if anyone had any advice if the temp. check fails.

Darren I think the key positioning in the 556 is critical, second, reprogramme tach so engine is nicely warmed up and running slower, third, extend crank time very very slightly. Whadya mean cold in the morning fool?  You want to come over here this week and help me shovel the car out EVERY damn day, what temperate climate?  What global warming?  And Y is NOT a bloody vowelposted_image

ok tell me if i'm wrong, if the key placement was wrong, it wouldn't start period, are you saying that in the morning the key somehow moves from it's position and then goes back to it's original state for the rest of the day, secondly reprogramming tach explain to me why, i've already done it and it works, crank time is already a full second, but the starters next preset time is 1.5seconds, which i don't want to do since it starts fine with the one second crank, during the day, ahh and lastly howie i am a respectable young person who started from nowhere with the criticism of all the people who were supposed to mean something in my life, and i don't appreciate being called a fool, i'll pass on the snow shoveling, it's carnival time, i'll be partying in a cool climate,hah.posted_image

Darren I'm sorry, the fool bit was a joke, you're too young to remember the "A" Team. I know from your previous posts that you're certainly no fool which is why (oh no not Y again) I made the joke.  All jesting aside I didn't realise that you had done all of the normal things already.  You just shouldn't get these problems in your climate.  Is the car in a decent state of tune?  Does it normally start on the button?   I owned 2 earlier Maxis, 87 and 93, obviously without transponders and never ever had r/s problems with them. One more thought, play around with that jumper inside the 556, you never know. Howard.

t&t, sometimes a key in the box type bypass can stop working when it gets colder. somewhere on here there is a thread about it.
