Hi guys. I have a 2003 GMC YUKON XL SLT and I installed a VIPER 5900 on the vehicle.

But after couple of weeks the dome light and reverse light stopped to work. I checked the fuses but they're not blown. The reverse light in trailer harness works fine... :(

So what is the problem do you think? Any idea?

Thanks :D

Hi guys. I'm working on a 2003 GMC YUKON XL SLT installing a VIPER 5900 with XK01 module, but I have some problems.

  •  When lock with the transmitter,  it lock all doors and chirps the siren once, THEN three chimes come from inside of the vehicle, and lock all the doors AGAIN and it arms the factory security. It's kind of DELAYED LOCKING FEATURE.(when pressed LOCK button on a door, it sound three chimes and lock all doors after the door is closed)When installed with 456G module, it locked all the doors, and the siren of viper AND horn of the vehicle chirped once, and it armed the factory security at the same time. I tested direct grounding the LOCK output; the first pulse lock all doors and arms with viper security, and the second pulse lock all doors AGAIN and horn chirps and arms with the factory security immediately. So there's no Delayed Locking.
  • When opened either the driver's door or passenger's door with the key or manual unlock switch, it should set off the alarm but it won't. However, it sets off when turned the ignition with the key or any shock on the vehicle.

Any help would be happy. thanks. :D

1) that's just the way the xk01 is

2) either wire up the xk01 wire to wire (instead of data to data) cut the factory alarm disarm wire coming from the drivers door key cylinder to the drivers door module. see this thread: CLICK HERE FOR THE THREAD

it would have to be wired W2W... 5900 does not have a D2D port...... did you tie into the domelight with the 456G?

thank you for your information, another-kelly!! :D

So the door lock setting of viper 5900 has to be programmed 2 pulse if desired horn to chirp...

Well I installed XK01 with W2W method, not D2D. Cause viper 5900 doesn't have a D2D port, as Kevin said. And when installed with 456G, I might mis-connected the domelight of the vehicle and door trigger input(output) of 456G. Maybe that caused the domelight and reverse light problem?
