ok guys,
one more Q before i start my install, i need to know step by step how do diode isolate my power doorlocks in my 01 Sunfire.

Why? In what context? What R/S unit are you installing? Are you talking about door locks or door contacts. If you aren't sure should you be attempting this?

My crystal ball says it's a Mercedes/Audi/VW Sunfire. Idiot look at this guys next post.

No need to diode isolate the door lcoks wires. You will need to diode isolate the door trigger wires if your installing a alarm or remote starter on a manula transmission vehicle. Use this diagram: https://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/negdoortrigs.gif------------- Jeff

Were are u testing from *1 if vehicle is WITHOUT Factory Keyless entry it is a TYPE C Door Locking system and MUST be tested from the PASSENGER SWITCH, if vehicle has Factory keyless Entry it is a TYPE A Door Locking System. have you try that.

testing from the new alarm for pos. voltage. my car has factory keyless, but can you give more info. about type A door locking system?

Look at the diagramme that comes with your alarm, type A is negative. Out of those 6, 2 will not be used, the Normally closed or NC, will go to ground, the NO or normally open pair and 2 the common wires or lock/unlock outputs go to the light blue and white wires that Mr. Idiot showed you in his first post.

Sorry, typo or brain not working, it's exactly as in your diagramme, cut the NCs ground the NOs and the other two go to the light blue and white on the car.

I checked the schematic on 01 sunfire, If it comes with factory keyless entry then it is a type "A" positive triggered doorlocks. That means you need to connect the NOs to a fused 12v+ power supply and the white to blue, WHITE/ black to white on the car.

well the white &(WHITE/ black) wires already have fuses. does this mean i should still add fuses to the remaining No wires?

In that case, connect the white & WHITE/ black to +12v constant. orange to blue (lock) & yellow/black to white (unlock) on the car. No more fuses needed on NOs.

Look carefully at the many posts you received on this. One person told you the lock trigger wires were neg, someone else, Moonliter more recently told you they were pos going. I suggest you test for yourself. Shut other doors on vehicle, throw lock catch on open door where you are working, take a DMM set to ohms, ground the black probe and place the other probe on your suspected lock, unlock wires. If this works, then they are neg. If this doesn't work, red probe to 12v+ then black to each. That way you will know whether these triggers are neg or pos. If neg, you ground your NOs. If pos you supply them with 12v+.

alright.... fixed the door locks. it ended up being a pos. door lock system. used my DMM to figure it out. the only thing left unprotected is my trunk, i have to wire up somehow. i think i know what i'm doing, but any advise would be helpful.

well, since my alarm install went fairly well, i'm thinking i might want to try the remote starter. i olny have 4 wires left to hook up, 2 wires are easy to find, but i also have this (see attach.). there are 4 wires coming from the relay. two (thicker)green ones, a yellow and a white. any help?

you're connecting this to the main starter wire in the car, find it cut it in half, the side that comes from the ignition switch connect the green to, the side that leads to the engine connect the green+, the white as the diagram states can be tapped to the green or to a true ignition wire, anyone is fine it doesn't matter, the yellow will be your ground when armed input from your respective source whether it be alarm or some other means.

by starter wire you mean ignition wire? located at the ignition (yellow).

The diagramme with that wonderful Chinglish spelling "RALY" shows an ignition cut, not to be done. Yellow to 85, white assuming that's the ignition OUTPUT i.e. 12v+ at ign on cranking goes to 86 with a diode between them, starter from key to 30 and output from 87a AND R/S to starter. T & t, dare one of us mention transponder by-pass and or tach yet? And if the sensing method is either oil pressure or alternator, don't bother.
