Hi all!
The alarm in my Prelude has stopped responding to either fobs and is immoblised.
Two things you need to know first:
1) The siren for the alarm has never worked
2) The PlainView valet switch is missing(!)
I was trying to get the second fob to be recognised after I changed the battery in it but now it seems neither work!
I've managed to find the three wires (red, white and black) that should connect to the valet switch as per this diagram:
https://www.guardianalarms.net/home_security_manuals/Clifford-Electronics/concept50x_wiring.pdf
but cannot make anything work as I don't know what wire does what (latch, center and momentry). The other problem is the car's never made the chirp noise the user manual refers to, so I have no idea what mode the alarm's in.
All I do know is the light on the centre consol that used to blink, no longer does so, so I guess something's gone wrong; maybe a fuse?
Any help much appreciated as I need the car for work tomorrow! Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post sensitive info here.
cheers

Throw it away, the CPUs fail and we can't get them repaired, remember it's at least 12 years old by now, forget the siren, water gets in and the internal batteries have either failed or again the siren driver on the CPU has gone. My normal procedure would be to either kill the power and by-pass the immobiliser circuits or remove completely, which I always seem to do eventually and replace with a Concept 650 Mk ll or Viper 480/500XV, all are Cat 1

Thanks for the reply. Having spent the afternoon on the web (and these forums) I notice lots of people have had lots of problems with this alarm model :(
However, the good news is I've managed to get it working again :D After much searching (and removing of various internal panels) I found the control box and the two fuses that go into it. The 5 amp one had blown so I replaced it. The alarm then went off (blinked all the indicators, no siren ;)) but then responded to the original fob.
So, one fob works, but the other still doesn't. I guess I need to buy a valet switch from somewhere. Anyone know a UK supplier of them? I've see ones for the G4/G5 on eBay but not for the Concept 50x (or are they the same?)
cheers

You got very lucky; its tradename was Comeback 50 (times). I've got a valet switch, yes it's different to g4/5 and remotes but it's not worth it it will fail again within three months.
