parking light wiring 2005 ford ranger

I have a 2005 ford ranger edge and need a wiring diagram for the parking lights. I also need to know if the lights use a neg or positive pulse to flash the park lights when locking the doors with a remote. I had a Scytek astra 777 2 way alarm installed and they did not hookup the park lights to flash correctly. The ford wiring diagram from dircted is all but useless to me. nothing matches in most cases. The truck came with remotes and keyless entry but no alarm. If I knew were the wires for the parking lights were located to flash the lights. then I could use the alarms on board relay to flash them when I locked the doors with the alarms remote. They hooked the alarm output to the light switch but it is not flashing the park lights when locking the doors with the alarm remote. The factory remote flashes them when I use it. I tested the alarm parking light output, and it is 12 volts pos. I can set the alarm control module to send either a Positive or a negative pulse to flash the parking lights.

I have the same info from a directed wiring sheet for my alarm but the Smart junction box SJB in passenger kick panel does not have a black and white wire in it. there is a black and white wire at the switch which is neg and a brown wire that is pos when the switch is turned on. The alarm pos output is connected to that brown wire but will not flash the parking Lights. That is why I wanted to know where I can hook the alarm output and whether I need a pos or neg output to trigger the park lights.

if you have a meter just test the wires at the switch. especially if you cant trust your tech sheet you should always test your wires anyway. not sure what the wire color is at the switch but there cant be too many wire to test.

at the SJB there should be a brown 32 pin connector   C2280A its the one kinda by itself should be the left side of the box pin 8 should be brown and its the parking light relay output   its a positive trigger

a complete set of Wiring diagrams. They are the best that I have ever seen. $11.95 US. according to the anti theft circuit Fig 4 the black and white wire at the main switch uses a neg pulse or gtround to trigger the park lamp relay. on the 2005 ford ranger, all of the relays are hot Pos and are triggered by a neg (ground) voltage or pulse. Yes I tested the output of the alarm control box and it is a pos + voltage. I will change the jumper to make it a Neg - voltage and hook it to the black white wire at the switch and see what happens. That should trigger the park lamp relay at 2280D in the SJB.

Well I changed the jumper on the Alarm control module so that the parking lamp flash output would be Neg (ground) and hooked it to the Blk/Wht wire. It now flashes the park lights when I arm or disarm the alarm. This is programmable in the alarm control module.It might be worth noting for those who don't know, The ford ranger has the Positive (+) side of the relays hot all of the time and use a Negative (-) (Ground) to activate or trigger them. I wish I would have gotten the wiring diagrams to begin with as it would have saved me a lot of time and money. The alarm installer did not know what he was doing. I should have done it myself to begin with.
