I recently had a Viper 5701 installed in a 2004 Nissan Murano, and everything works great except for the rear window defroster that should turn on when the vehical is under 55 degrees (during remote start/run). I contacted Directed about the issue and they gave me updated information to give to the installer so the rear defrost would work. However, after the second time of having the vehicle worked on, it still does not work. Has anyone installed a 5701 Viper in a '04 Nissan Murano and been successful at hooking up the rear defrost so it turns on during remote start? Any help would be great.

it should be a GREEN/ red wire at the defrost relay in the driver kick panel brown plug this wire will activate the defrost for 8 min.

How is the relay going to time itself?

Does the car's radio come on during remote start?

There's a low-current, negative-trigger wire at the car's BCM that'll trigger the defroster.....but it only works if both of the car's accessory wires are powered during remote start.

If the radio isn't coming on during remote start, have the installer power up the car's blue/white second-accessory wire.
