Hey.

Developed a problem withthe command start on my 99 GMC (classic body style) pickup.

The remote model is a CS-555,no doors hooked up,just start and stop.Problem is it blows one of the 30 amp ign. fuses instantly.I have checked all the wires for shorts and found nothing.

I unplugged the module and the by-pass,replaced the fuse, plugged the by-pass in first, then the module and wham.Blew the fuse.

Does it sound like my module is dead or could it be a problem else where?

thanks

Without us knowing what wires of the vehicle you connected to the remote start module, it will be hard for us to help you.  Post the wiring info you used.

I will have to have a look and see what wires run where. The system was already installed in the truck when i bought it.The guy i purchased it from said it did work, then one day up and quit.

The 30 amp ignition fuse that you are talking about is that one of the fuses coming off the command start or the actual vehicle ignition fuse?

It is one of the two 30 amp in line fuses coming from the remote start to the truck ignition harness.

Haven't had a chance to check the wires as it is dark when i get home from work.

When you start the truck with the key is it hard to turn over?
You could have an issue with the starter motor which is drawing more current then the command start is capable of.
Also it could be an issue with the brain maybe the is a burnt trace inside the brain which is a dead short

Truck spins over easy with the key and the starter was new in sept.

I was kind of thinking a dead short in the module as it zaps the fuse hard.Last time it blew the fuse i heard the starter solenid jump.
