I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition with a series 1100 Astro Start installed. Everything was working good yesterday. I put a new battery in the Jeep because the old one was starting to go bad. Everything was still working fine after putting in the new battery, but the ground terminal did not get tightened enough and the Jeep would not start with the key. Once I got that all tightened back down, the lock and unlock are not working with the remote. The remote start and shut off are working. The power locks work from the inside, but are not working with the remote start. The lights just flash. The horn does not sound when pressing lock on the remote or when shutting the engine off w/ the remote like it used to. But the panic does work. Any ideas???

There's almost certainly another module installed in there, separate from the remote starter, that controls the doorlocks.
It's possible to do doorlocks on that car without a module, but it's a lot of extra work, so most likely they used something.
Probably it lost its programming when the battery was disconnected.
Look under the dash for a small module that might have a part number such as: 455J, JDL-PK, XK01, those are three common ones.
Alternately, see under the driver's dash, near the fuse box, the plug for the dealer mechanic to plug in his computer?
There should be one aftermarket wire spliced into the harness for that plug......follow that wire and you should find the module.
Report back with what module it is, and someone here should be able to help reprogram it.

Went and looked under there. I know earlier I saw the main module down there with the different switches. So I looked for an aftermarket wire spliced into the plug and there was. Tried following it back and found a little black module probably no bigger than 4" or 5" square. The sticker on it says,
"Alarm/Doorlock Interface"
"IM-JEEP-3"
"part no. 392-909-130"
The red light on there is on solid...doesn't flash like the one on the main module.

Well I think I got lucky. I disconnected the power to that door lock interface, then plugged it back in and everything works. Would still be interested in knowing how all that stuff is programed if anyone ever gets the chance. Thanks
