I remember a coworker doing this a long time ago, but I cannot remember how it was done, or what extra was needed to retain the memory seats, etc. I will be working on a        2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup and will be putting in a Python 1400XP from DEI. If anyone can help me out, please let me know, I have seen the wire colors that are listed in the door, but beyond that, I don't know/remember where I need to go.

Thanks

Pretty much any brand of databus bypass module you use, both of the aftermarket remotes will function as Driver 1.

You could probably run the auxilary (trunk) output from the Python into the driver's door, and try to find/test/connect the Driver 2 wire, but I don't know if it would be worth the trouble.

It might just be easier for the main driver of the truck to use Driver 1, and then when the secondary driver gets in, they could just push the 2 button on the door.

So, if I do nothing, and hook up the remote start as if there were no driver 1, driver 2, memory at all, whenever it is started, it will automatically revert to the driver 1 setting, and if the customer wants the driver 2 set up, I can just use a relay off of the trunk wire and run a + pulse to the driver 2 wire in the door?

In saying this, when the truck is then shut off, when it is started with the remote again, it will revert again back to the driver 1 position until the aux button is pressed.

thanks

My bet is the driver 2 wire is a ground and will be a direct connection to the trunk wire, but until you test to see who knows. Yes that is what Chris is saying...

ok, the only reason I said about the relay, is because on this site, when I looked up the wiring for the truck, it stated that the driver 2 memory wire was pink + in the drivers door.... but testing will show. thanks alot for all the info!
