Have anyone installed a trunk release solenoid in a 93 Toyota Camry. I was just wondering if there is a specific solenoid just for this model or do I have to use the universal cable pull solenoid. If I have to go with universal type does anyone knows if there is a way to connect it so that the existing pull lever would work as well as the trunk release solenoid with remote control. I don't want to install a push button in the car. I think toyota does not make power trunks for this year camry. Does anyone knows if a Toyota trunk motor/solenoid from a different year and different model (avalon, corrolla) would fit in a 93 camry. I would appreciate if anyone can give some installation tips and recommend where I can buy that solenoid. Thanks in advance.

I've installed a selenoid on an Avalon and all you have to do is connect the wire from the new selenoid to the existing pull wire and attach like you would powerdoorlocks. Usually ring them together and clamp them. Make sure it is clamped very well.. Jus get the universal type of trunk selenoid. Usually run like $15.
