Hello all,

I am installing this in an 06 escalade ext with an autopage rs1000.  I have it hooked up like this.

both black and white wire has been cut for 2 min arm and 3 degree trigger

red to 12V constant

blue with diode (band towards 507m) to alarm instant negative trigger

orange to negative ground when armed output.  I also have the negative ground when armed output hooked up to my starter kill relay.

I have the sensor mounted in the middle console on metal but it does not trigger alarn when truck is jacked up.  I have now attached it vertically on one of the middle console metal surface and I am about to check again but is there something am missing or did not hook up correctly?

Thanks

It did not trigger even when I jacked it up enough to remove the wheels it triggered when I manually moved the unit.  I supposed its hooked up ok but maybe I need to change to 1 degree tilt.  I just heard about all the false alarm so I did not.

can anyone give imput on good mounting location, i have 22" tires and am not sure if this why it does not detect even at 1 degree tilt setting.

This may not be relevant but place a diode band towards alarm from the starter kill relay before you made your join on the Orange armed otput wire.

I have a tilt sensor installed on my Lancer and don't have any issues with it. I left it at the default 1 degree setting. I believe the default arming time of this sensor is 2 minutes after system is armed.. allowing for the vehicle to settle in place ie if parked on a hill or slant.  Mine is mounted on a metal plank just left of my gear shifter..which is more centrally located towards the front of the vehicle. I find this handy as it will sense jacking from the front since me vehicle is rear wheel drive..so if someone wanted to tow it... they will lift the front of the car first. And if they decide to steel your tires and rims, I am assuming they will take all four so eventually they will get to the front.  You have a bigger vehicle so you could always install an additional 507 in the rear of your suv.

The angle of the vehicle will measure the same from front to back.

I would do as howie suggests. I don't think the sensors is resetting and settling when you arm the system because the sensor is constantly seeing "ground" on the orange wire.
And as dismay says, the angle would be the same regardless if the sensor is installed the in the front or rear of the vehicle.

how does the 507m differ from the 507t?  one is motion, and one is tilt, correct?  could this be an issue here?

M was the later Motorcycle version of the T it replaced it a couple of years ago because it was supposedly more reliable. I've never had any trouble with them because I try and avoid fitting them. Everytime I've come across a late DEI product giving falsies installed by someone else, I kill the 507 and job done.
