I'm looking for an explanation to how this is done. When I installed the remote starter in my car there was already a very crappy one in there. My car uses the PK3 system (2000 grand prix) and they way they bypassed this was to use a relay and wrap a key in a bunch of wire. I remember seeing a diagram someone put on this site a while back but I cannot find it.
So, can anyone explain to me exactly how this works? Would it work on most cars? and does anyone have a diagram of how this is done?

HERE here is a PDF file with how its wire up.you wrap the 22 gauge wire at least six time around the key and six time around the cylinder on the relay you have one to constant and the other to a GWR ground when running the way this is when you remote start the car the relay triggers and this would send the RF from the key to the cylinder now this not always work in all car only on a few I personally used these on many Chrysler and a few Honda and GM it never work for me on BMW or any euro cars

Thats what I'm lookin for. Thanks a lot I will probably be putting my old remote start into my girlfriends 99 Camry. This method should work for that car shouldn't it?

yes that would work just make sure you use 22 AWG wire

Very few 99 Camry's had an immobilizer. I think only the v6 had one.

Well I was reading some posts and one of them said to look for the security light in the dash which are only on the XLE model which is what she has and it is V6 so I assume its got some sort of immobilizer.

Well I just figured since I already have the relays I wouldn't have to buy anything else but I might go that route as it looks like I can get one for $20.

I would go the route of the 556u. You can also look for an Omega PASS-4. its the same as the 556u but alot less expensive.
