Hello all, first post and a lot of questions. Hope you all have some patience. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado, it came with the power package, but no keyless entry. No problem, trip to Best Buy and had a Viper keyless kit installed, should have sprung for the start then, but noooo. So a year later, now I want the start, so i do some research, Valet 561T. Will it work with my existing fob? What other modules needed? Should I just scrap the whole thing, and lose the $300 I spent for the entry, and get a Viper 5101? Who do you recommend in the Nashville TN area for this type of install? Please any help would be appreciated?

you would pretty much have to lose the old module but on the plus side with the car starter you can add the locks so it will be there ------------- "Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd

What Viper keyless entry unit was installed? Also, does it have any auxiliary channels available?
The rest of the answer awaits.

Does the keyless entry currently installed have the range you want?
Pretty much, if you can't operate the keyless from inside your house, there's not much point in adding the remote starter onto it.
But, if it does have enough range for you, you could save couple of dollars by getting a 561T instead of a full-feature remote starter/keyless, although the difference in cost is very small.
