I bought a 97 Chrysler Sebring conv. with the Viper 300 & Valet 551R systems. But, the previous owner had no keyfob, and said the systems hadn't worked in a while.

I added (2-wire/no switches)  power lock actuators to the doors, and want to just get power locks working with a keyfob (and a trunk pop would be nice too). I can't rely on the old systems, and found/bought a DEI Valet 712T on Ebay for cheap. Figured that I could remove the old, and install the new.  Well the old system is wiring intensive under the dash.  Even has a cluster of 5 relays taped together, and a separate 504D shock/noise sensor.  I'm mostly concerned about being able to reconnect any wires that were cut to add the old systems between.

Should I just compare installation/wiring diagrams and swap/remove one wire at a time, or go at it a different route?  I'm kind of hesitant.

Thanks for any ideas on this.

Ok I pulled out the old systems this morning.  I was carefull to remove the wires one at a time - cut them and then re-wrap with electrical tape.  Whoever installed them had soldered everything.

I made sure to leave a few of the wires that are needed for my 712T installation.  Now I have a few questions about that (I'll write a new post).

I'm going to continue on this post for now - need a little help with the DEI 712T installation.  This is in a 97 Chrysler Sebring conv.  I installed factory door lock actuators, but no switches.  The actuators are the reversing polarity, 2-wire style.  12V to one wire, ground to the other locks. Then reverse the wires and they unlock. I was hoping to use the keyfob and the automatic lock/unlock to control the locks.

So far on the 712T I have wired the Red wire to 12V constant, Yellow to 12V switched, White to parking light flash, Black to ground.  I put the fuses in and tried the remote. The lights flash and the red blinker blinks when locked, parking lights flash when unlocked.

I'm not sure which wires to connect to the actuators.  And how any other wires might need to be connected to get the locks to work.  I have the DEI install manual - and am figuring GREEN/ blk & blue/blk, but what about the other wires from the 712T.

Thanks for any assistance.

Can someone give me ideas/direction on this please - I don't want to wire it wrong and fry something.  I was checking other posts and it appears that I need to wire Purple & PURPLE / black to 12V constant, GREEN/ blk & blue/blk to the actuator wires, and WHITE/ blk & BROWN / blk to ground.

Does this seem correct?

Thanks for any input.

I was able to get the door locks working.  Now I need to wire a relay to pop the trunk.
