All of a sudden my remote start will only work if I am sitting in the car (this after I adjusted sensitivity on the shock sensor). Something else that is strange, I can be down the street and pressing the remote button will kill the engine as it is expected to work. I at first thought it was the battery, but both remotes work as explained above.

Thanks in advance..

Mine did that and it was a weak start button on my remote. The stop button is not used as much--Just a thought.Try pushing harder on the start button.

You can try to take the remote apart and clean the board with rubbing alcohol without damaging the circuit I've seen many remotes that get a buildup on the circuit just take a swab and don't push to hard
If it's there it will look like a black gunk for lack of a better work and also clean the back of the soft rubber as well it will be on that to
Hope that helps
