Does anyone know of a bypass module out there that is keyless for the 2005 Volvo S40.  All I can find is ones that lose the expensive keys under the dash.

Thanks

Jeff

I don't think your going to find one to be honest the best way its just a 556u or universal transponder bypass

No one seems to make anything like that for European cars.

You'll unfortunately need to lose a key.

There are some modules that'll help you do doorlocks without running wires into the driver's door, but that's about it.

What happens when the key is plastic and built into the remote, I think its called a smart transponder remote.

See if there's a "Valet key" available.

Just went on the directechs site, according to them you require a DLPK with an antenna loop.  We don't get any of these over here so I make no claims, also I haven't worked any Volvos for years so I'm making no judgements.  Ref the Valet key if there is one,  it  would work with the 556UW.

hi,

Does the S40 have a silver ignition switch trim bezel?  If it is, the silver material is metallic.  Does a wonderful job of blocking the rf signal from the transponder bypass ring.  Didn't remember the last one i worked on as being too fun.  If you place the ring in front of the ignition switch, between the switch and the dash, once the trim bezel is replaced, the car won't be able to read the buried key.  I used a bead blaster to remove the silver coating and painted it a flat black.  The transponder on the Volvo key is in the tip of the key, not where the keyfob buttons are.
