I have searched every inch of the firewall and can't find one to run the hoodpin thru.

Passenger side up by the kickpanel. It may be easier geting to it from the engine compartment and just sticking a coathanger threw it. I've done enough police squads to know. Have fun.

There's also an unused rubber grommet in the middle of the firewall, down low. On the floor of the car, where the heater ducting is, it's right in the middle behind the duct. Difficult to get at, but it's there.

Also, you can get tach inside the car. Go to the parking brake pedal, right where you would push it with your foot, and look directly above. There are two square black plastic things, each with a gold screw in the middle....tan / YELLOW tach is in one of those.
