Help, I just bought my wife a new 2002 Dodge Stratus, it came stock with the keyless entry system that locks and unlocks the doors, unlocks the trunk, flashes the headlights when you lock and unlock the doors and the dome light comes on for a short time when you unlock, it also has the auto lock when the car gets to 15 mph, and it has a panic that will honk the horm, there is no factory alarm installed, my question is: i was told that i have to disable all of this so i can install our new alarm system that has lock, unlock, trunk release and auto start, can any one tell me how to do this, i was told that i cant install our new system until the factory system is disabled. any help?

You don't have to disable anything. You can install your new alarm right on top of the factory system. Your factory system will still work as it does now on top of having a new system in it that can open door flash lite and so on.

You have a big job on your hands. If you dont have any 12 volt exp. I would highly recommend taking it to a prof. Also if you have a grey key head you are going to have to bypass the chip that you have in your key.

No I do not have a grey key, yes i know how it is going to be hard to install it i had to do it last year on my dodge truck, and it was a big job, but my only question was if i had to disable my factory keyless system before i can install my new alarm system. Thanks for your help...

Thank You, I was hoping that that was the way to do it, it will make things easy when I go to install the new one, I was told that if I hook both of them up togeather that they would conflict with each other. Thanks Again
