I'm having a problem with my Viper 5900 after replacing the remote battery.
The old battery got completely drained (the remote did not notify that it was low by the 2 series of beeps after locking or unlocking like it did before) and after installing a new battery I can't disarm the alarm with the remote. I press unlock and nothing happens.
How would I program the remote to the system?
I have the installation manual but I can't figure out what the hell to do.
Thanks.

ok, here are the conditions that have to be in order to program your remote, locate your valet switch, it must be in working order, your ignition must be connected via the xcrs and ribbon cable, your green door trigger must be connected, and your siren or led must  be fuctional, and the brain must be unlocked, once these are in order, simply open a door, turn your ignition on, press and releae the valet switch twice holding on the second press, wait until the siren emits a single chirp, the press and release the lock button on the transmitter, you should hear the siren emit a long chirp, this indicates success,

Your method worked well, thanks. I just couldn't figure it out using the lousy DEI manual.
I'll have to be more vigilant about replacing the remote battery. It only lasts about 2 weeks, by the way.

you're welcome, manuals are funny that way, they kinda speak installer language, and remotes don't really lose their programming when the battery is replaced. so it's maybe just a co-incidence.
