My alarm came with a shock sensor.  I also want to put in a proximity sensor.  I figured I would just use the prox sensor and not the shock.  Would this be a bad idea!?  I know almost all alarms have shock sensors.  I guess I could hook them both up...but that would take more wiring!  What do you think!?

Just hook up the perimeter sensor to the exisitng impact sensor wires and diode isolate the two devices from each other with 1N4001 1 amp diodes.
