I am trying to install a keyless entry in a 91 civic. I already installed aftermarket actuators and got thos working. I just cant seem to get the keyless system to controll it. Do I need relays. The system is stellar or protocol pppkl3. I just want to use the lock/unlock features (no horn honk, or parking lights). I am not installing any switches to lock/unlock car while inside vehicle. I have installed keyless entry on cars before but they had factory power locks. I have two wire lock actuators.

So I need to purchase some relays? Where can I get them, Napa, Shucks, general auto parts store?

Yes, this is assuming you do not have onboard relays on the unit, which i'm doubting you do. You will need 2 single pull double throw...spdt...relays. You should be able to get them at any automotive parts store, but could order them online alot cheaper.

Funny...i was on ebay at the same time you were....ebay links don't work here, but i was able to match up item numbers. Yes, those will work. You will only need 2 relays total. -------------

If I were to just get another kit with built in relays then the install would be that much easier right. such as this one ebay number 220303435369. That would control the aftermarket lock actuators without any extra parts. Basically a wire in and you are done? Thanks for all of your fast responses.

You could go that route, but the only problem I would have is, how reliable is the system?....which is the problem I have with the system you are using now. You could also just buy the unit itself without the actuators. The ones you have will work fine, considering you've already got them installed. Item # 220243503691 -------------

I saw that but figured the other had free shipping so it almost seemed better to have a couple spare actuators. Do you have any recommendations on another system. I would like to do it once and forget about it. I think I def want the built in relays for ease of install. I live in Alaska and there are not many retail stores so online is my best bet.

I would look at the Valet 712t. Keep in mind, you will not get a factory warranty without it being installed by an authorized dealer.....which is the same with most bigger brands. Where at in Alaska are you? I lived in Adak for 2 years, and spent a little time in Anchorage.

I live in Wasilla so I have to drive an hour to most big stores in Anchorage. Been here since late 05, drove up from Augusta, Georgia. I see that Valet 712t on ebay for around same price as other (260377460219). That will control my 2 wire door lock actuators with no other needed parts?
