alarm without remote control?

Can anyone recommend an alarm that does not have any remote? I want one that I can turn on and off via a switch in the car (with some sort of delay so when I open the door it gives me 30 seconds or so before the alarm sounds). One with a motion sensor would be best.

Any recommendations? I haven;t been able to find one so far.

Go back about 30 years, they all used to be like that and then along came central locking and remote controls and the FACT that with an external remote it's harder to find the wiring than with a switch.

so none are made like that today? I just dont want to carry around a remote control

There are a couple of options.

1. Audiovox Pursuit PRO-9233. It's an alarm without remotes that's generally intended to be used on cars that already have factory keyless entry, but it does have a way to be used without remotes at all.

The alarm would passively arm 30 seconds after you close the last door in your car. When you return to the car and open the door, you have a limited amount of time to turn on the car's ignition before the alarm goes off.

I have never attempted to install the 9233 in this manner; I've only read about how to do it in the installation guide. Audiovox manuals are poorly written.

Whether you're doing it yourself or hiring a professional, it'll be necessary to pay close attention to the instructions, as there probably won't be anyone on the Internet who can help you through it.....as it's likely few people have installed the system this way before.

2. Another option is any kind of factory-keyless-upgrade alarm like the PRO-9233, or an Automate AM1, or countless others, but:

You'd also buy one of those keypad keyless entry units that attaches to the outside of the driver's door of the car.

Have you ever seen on upscale Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns, that touch pad on the door? You type in a combination, and the car opens.

They sell those systems aftermarket, and you could buy and install one, and then use the signals from the keypad to arm and disarm the alarm.

The Clifford G3 and G4 models also have this feature.

Yes but you would need remotes for them,  also from where are you going to get a G3?  We know nothing about this person's vehicle could we have some details?  If it has keyless entry don't DEI and others make alarms that will work through the factory remote?

I have a 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited. it doesnt have any kind of alarm now nor auto door locks

Get the clifford alarm G4. and hide the remotes in the car...lol
simple but it works. the key thing is that he wants the alarm to give him a short period to deactivate. You can even use VALET switch/button to disable the alarm that way too, but its a pain. The G4 also has a 30sec window before the shock sensor is monitored so you could arm and exit the vehicle.

Sounds much more of a hassle than just carrying the remote. my 2 cents.
