I have a 93 Ford Escort GT that I use as a daily driver to a commuter lot. There really isn't anything special about it besides the fact that it is relatively low mileage, burns no oil (even 0w 20 synthetic) and the paint and body are in great shape. The color is also a 93 only extremely rare color.

I basically bought the wrong car to bring to a commuter lot. I should have bought an Escort LX with bad paint.

I am concerned about door dingers and the nights when things go wrong and I am forced to leave it there.

The car has no keyless entry or power door locks/windows.

It can stay that way, I don't need that stuff because I have 3 other vehicles with that stuff.

I want something simple. I know that back in the day there were 3 wire alarms or something. A voltage drop triggered the alarm. Maybe this still happens?

I have a 3 wire microwave sensor that is 2 zone and 1 stage. I wouldn't mind using as I like to recycle everything that I have when possible. I don't mind the alarm going full tilt if some idiot parks their piece of junk close to me.

I have also been down the dummy LED route for some of my cars and that has worked fine to.

Any thoughts?

I know that a fake led is not going to help with door dingers. I just don't know how much time I want to spend on wiring up an alarm that keeps them away lol

ummm, not really sure how to reply as you're not sure what you want but i'll try, if simple is the goal, maybe you can use the sensor, connect it directly this is assuming the sensor can be wired this way, power, ground, either of the two has to be switch controlled, and the negative trigger wire to a relay causing a horn or siren to blare, dummy led simple again, you can also use your door triggers run them through some relays to a siren operated by a switch of some sort, and voila door opens, siren blares, only thing is if it's closed back it doesn't, posted_image

, or you could probably get a simple alarm that would make life a whole lot easier, i'm sure an alarm with basic features can't be that costly and it is after all, simple, just a thought.
