I have a 2000 Chevy Impala and it has a3400 v6 in it and I can't find a tach wire.  I have tried every diagram I have access to and it calms to be white at the coil but none of the wires show to be the one.  I have nothing also tried down in the breather box but yet.

How are you "testing" the tach wire? The tach signal IS at the coil pack, and it IS white!

At the top of the motor against the firewall ( middle of the vehicle ) that is where you will find the coil pack. There will be 4-5 wires in a 6-7 pin plug. The color of the WHITE may be discolored so strip back some of the split tube looming and tape and this will show the wire colors better. THe plug is right next to the red oil dip stick.

if the car starts then dies, then the bypass isn't the problem, it's more likely a tach issue, if the bypass were the problem the car would not have started.
