I had this unit installed in my previous vehicle and the dealership took it out and gave it back to me. I'd like to install it in my mom's car. Don't want to do anything to the new truck until I break it in a bit. I did a search online which led me here. I searched here but didn't find anything but the Crime Guard 850i3 diagram.

Is there much of a difference between the 850i3 and the 850i4? If so, what are they?

Thank you.

Compare the diagram to the wires on your alarm.  There should not be that much different between the 2 units.  If they were a lot different, they would not share the same model number.

One can never tell. I've worked in the alarm business for 11 years now and manufacturers will even change the look and function of a product but never change the model number. The only warning, if any at all, will usually be an addendum sent out to the larger distributors but not the smaller ones.

Other manufacturers will just upgrade or update the model and add a revision point to the model number itself (Which appears is what Omega did to their Crime Guard series as they go). Although the change may not be outwardly apparent, they may have modified a function or how a trigger works slightly differently. This is pretty much what I'm trying to find out. It is still a good working unit (with the exception of the Echo remote; that thing died after using it for the first two months) but I do not want to connect something incorrectly and destroy the system.

If anyone has any info as to if there are any changes between models, it would be greatly appreciated. I checked Omega's website, but it doesn't have any such information on it.

Thanks.
