It seems like everyone only cares about range for 2 ways.  I want to know what the best range for 1 way remotes were........ How is the range for the 553T?  THanks

P.s. People say that the hornet 554t range is not as good as the viper and clifford models? is this at all true?

To your first question, the range of the standard DEI alarm (Hornet, Viper, Python, Sidewinder, Clifford) are great. Especially the newer units w/ the XHF receiver. I mounted my antenna on the driver's side A-pillar, as far up as I could, and I really good range, to the point if I disarm my alarm from far away, I can't hear the siren chirp or see the parking lights flash. To give an estimate, I'd have to say over 100 yards, maybe more.

To your second question, the Hornet 554T works on a totally different frequency than the Clifford RS3, Viper 790XV, and Python 880XP. That's why the Hornet can use the regular remotes, whereas the Clifford/Viper/Python only can use the Responder remotes.

I've read on other forums that the Hornet range isn't as good as the Clifford/Viper/Python units, but have also heard of problems w/ the remote locking up w/ the Clifford/Viper/Python units since that basically use the same remotes.

Just my $0.02.
