I need a lilttle help finishing installing my alarm (5901) I just want to install the basic, i dont need the remote start. This is a 85 camaro tpi.

First the trunk release works off power not ground, any way i can wire that in?

second do i realy need to wire up the Ignition (+) Input, wat does that do?

so far that been the only problems i've had. I realy like this alarm system

The ignition needs to be powered up so you can do programming features and stuff and it does the starter kill if you used that.  As for the trunk not a problem just get a relay.

The igniition wire serves 2 purposes.  They are as follows, one it keeps the alarm from being armed while the car is running.  Secondly, the alarm probably has a feature called prior attack notification.  If the alarm was set off, when you get back to the car and disarm the alarm, it will chirp 4 times instead of twice.  The ignition wire resets this feature.

Is the trunk release wire positive at the button?

If you have a switch or an alarm or keyless entry that has a negative output that you wish to use to switch a device that requires 12V+ such as a horn, dome light, parking lights, head lights, hatch release, etc., wire a relay as shown below to convert the negative output (trigger) to a positive output.

Here's the same configuration showing a negative output from an alarm or remote keyless entry used to activate a trunk release solenoid that requires 12V+ to release the trunk.

Are you using a Meter...or a Test Light...I think your right about trunk release ...But where did you find out that it is positive trigger? Always check connection...Do you have power door locks...? Is the trunk the last feature you have left to do...? Make sure you get the ignition properly wired to alarm...That car is fuel injected isnt it...?
