Subject: remocon lrt 1 remote?

Hey does anyone know if this remote is any good? I have lost my last Alpine 8440 remote and damn Alpine alarms don't exist anymore, so I'm looking at this universal remote. No mentioning of this remote anywhere in these forums. Does anyone have this Remocon LRT-1 remote?

Also, does anyone know what frequency the Alpine car alarms work at? This universal remote works at frequencies of 255Mhz - 500Mhz, the Alpine alarm must be at the higher frequencies right?

Thanks

Did you read the directions on the back of the package for that remote?     Did YOU understand them?

I've fooled around with them in the past, and have one in the package right here in front of me.  I'd reccomend trying to get a genuine Alpine remote.  Or another type of clone remote.

Yes I read all the instructions, but do not own one. I was just curious if anyone has used these before with success. The instructions look pretty straight forward and understandable. Did you get yours to work for your car alarm? Instructions say "You can "Duplicate" any frequencies between 255Mhz - 500Mhz". Alpine remotes have to be in that range somewhere.

Unfortunately, ALPINE is no longer available for alarms so no hope in getting a GENUINE ALPINE REMOTE (I have checked everywhere from craigslists to eBay). Other clone remotes are in excess of $70+ dollars as well. So is this remocon just junk? I am about to order 3 of these remotes so I want to be sure they work.

Thanks

Check this website, www.autotechs.com

According to their site they have the remote you need.  Hope this helps.

Thanks but their replacement remotes are actually REMOCON RMC-105 models and for $65+ wouldn't be worth it (need quantity of 3).

www.autotech.com's remote:

REMOCON's remote:

For that much money I could just buy a transmitter duplicator and do them myself. The REMOCON LRT-1 should do the same thing w/o having to use a separate duplicator (hopefully).

Remote I'm thinking of getting:

I'm surprised you would want to spend any money towards that system at all. You could buy those 3 transmitters, and a month later, the brain could go up in smoke. Why not put the money towards a new system?

Well that bites, being that that I have three Alpine alarms.  I hope that my remotes dont break or that I lose one of them. I guess the next place to look is ebay, if I ever need one.

The remote you are looking at still requires a good original transmitter in order to clone it. If you have lost all of your remotes, you will not be able to make a spare. I have used them and they are ok most of the time. If they are not adjusted perfectly, they have poor range.

email to orders@pacparts.com and see if they still have one. You might be surprised.

I still have an original alpine remote with a broken case I am going to use to program these remotes. I just bought 3 of these remotes from eBay for only 14.99 each with cheap shipping. Only using one for my car. The others are for HOMELINK and gate/garage lights. The range has to be better than my current remote (works max 30 feet) and my gate garage remote only about 10 feet. Remocon says they can be tuned for the most distance of any remote on the market.

I'll report back with the results.
