Hi all
I am looking into fitting an alarm with remote start and I need some advice on what bypass module to purchase. My car details are.
BMW E36 320i August build 1995. It has a factory fitted immobiliser but no alarm fitted.
What module will work 100% with my car for remote start and will it work with any alarm that has the remote start option?
Thanks

The car alarm I want to fit is a Sniper X2RS 2-Way Pager Car Alarm System with Remote Starter.
Are they any good?

Throw away that piece of rubbish, buy a clifford 650 Mk ll with I/start and I'll tell you everything you need to know. Mid 90s 3 series, do all your locks and windows still work properly?

Yep 100%. All door locks, petrol lock, boot lock and front electric windows. Manual windows in the back.

The Clifford 650 is over £250 to buy and my car is only worth £500.
I'm just after a cheap and cheerful alarm the works with all the benefits of the expensive alarms. That is fairly reliable and is a deterrent.
That is why I chose the Sniper X2RS 2-Way Pager Car Alarm.
If anyone can recommend another cheep alarm that is better than the Falcon Sniper alarm can you please let me know?
What bypass module will work a 100% with my car. The DEI 555B or the DEI 556U?
Thanks

Anyone using the Falcon car alarm and are they any good?
BMW E36 320i August build 1995 manual. It has a factory fitted immobiliser.
Which of the two bypass modules will work a 100% with my car. The DEI 555B or the DEI 556U?

Cheap alarms are rubbish, I did some contract work for Falcon a couple of years ago and every single unit was faulty in one way or another, the best one was where the remote! failed after 2 weeks. To get the job done you have to pay the price, there is NO CHEAP decent unit. By the way, add £100 to the Concept 650 for the Intellistart which incidentally is the only system which works legally with a manual transmission. You will also need a 556U for the by-pass. I charge about £530 installed for that combination, shops will quote up to £800. The difference is when I install it, it works.

You know your stuff. What is your opinion on the Hornet 745T alarm system by Clifford?
No remote start, but I can live with that.

howie ll. I had a look on the Clifford web site and the Hornet alarm is not listed.
On the web site I'm buying it from says it is made by Clifford.
Do you know if it is made by them or not and will the Clifford alarm add-ons fit the Hornet alarms?

howie ll. On the Hornet 745T. It has Comfort Closure. How does this work with my 1995 E36 and will I have to buy any relays to get it to work properly?
Will I have to fit a diode to get the petrol lock to work with the 745T?
What is confusing me is that they also mention a 529T or a 530T module that has to be purchased to roll up the windows.
Thanks

Set it for comfort close, use one diode, from lock to unlock wire, band towards unlock, this will give you deadlock and window close on arming. Make the white light output neg going and join to the brown blue wire atg the haz switch. This will give you indicators. Yes it's made by DEI, Cliffords parent company and you won't need a 529 or 530.

Is the Hornet Maxx 1 better than the 745T?
When I went to order the 745T I was told I could have the Maxx 1 for the same price. So I don't know what one to pick now.
