lock- lt. blue
unlock- BLACK/ red

generally when the fuse blow, you either didnt ground it properly or hook up using the wrong wire from the DEI relay.

that relay pack can be confusing if you dont understand the basic function of a relay. here's what you should do:

lock or unlock wire
-30 or common should be hooked to the actuator side.
-87a or NC should be hooked to the switch side
-87 or NO should have 12v constant. This is your purple and PURPLE / black fused.

above is the generic way of doing it. i dont have the 451m in front of me.

I thought the system had internal relays

alright I kept thinkin you'r using the 451M but it's the same thing, only these generation of module has internal relay set.

look at picture below and refer to what I posted. not sure if you needed spelled out but I explained pretty well.

if you cut your lock and unlock wires and use all of the B-G wires accordingly, then you're doing it right. the next thign I would check is the ground.

doesnt that truck have a 5 wire setup if your blowing fuses on lock and unlock it usually means your feeding voltage to a direct ground.  It sounds like you wired it wrong.

purple goes to 12v+.

that diagram above from simplyfalling is the same thing being described through out this thread.

look at this diagram below. now the lock and unlock wires are grouped, just cut each lock and unlock wire of the car. 30 goes to the motor side and the 87a goes to the switch side.do it twice for lock and unlock.
