I've just completed installation of a Prestige APS-995 in a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup and when it's remote started there is a rapid clicking noise like a relay? (sort of sounds like a small air compressor running). It goes away once I turn on the key. It's hard to tell where the sound is coming from with the noise of the engine running. Any ideas?

P.S. I wired the IGN1 to dark blue and IGN2 to red and I doubled checked these with a DVM to make sure they were hot (or not hot) for all the proper key positions. Also I am not using the starter inhibit relay.

The only way to find the problem is to crawl under the dash and listen. If it is a relay you should be able to feel it by hand as well as hear it.

Did you install any relays yourself?

This can also happen when a relay is sending a positive output against chassis ground or visa versa. It'll cause relay chatter. Also, you used the smaller of the two blue wires in the harness right? Hope this helps

Try using the RED / white wire for ignition 2. Some of the 02+ Rams use the red as 2nd ignition, others use the RED / white. Using the wrong one will cause the clicking.
