Subject: JDL-PK Question

I am looking to keep my factory remotes and install a remote starter as well as window/sunroof roll-up modules.

A couple of companies sell the "lock your door twice to start engine" remote starters.  Any opinions on which is the best option?

My main question is about the JDL-PK.  It says that it has a "window roll-up option"  What exaclty does this mean?  Is there a built in relay or what?

Is there a better transponder bypass/data bus interface option? I know DEI makes one but I haven't read up on it.

And lastly, where can I get a good price on the JDL-PK or other interface?

Thank-you in advance your help....

First what kind of car? Second the window roll up functions on those moudles never work, it never sends you windows fully up. Now thirdly, personnally i thinks its just plain stupid to use the factory remote for your starter. You as best will get 30feet and with an aftermarket remote you'll get upwards of 500feet or more. I could sell you a 552T Remote start, window roll up moudles for 4 windows plus a sunroof, Jeep data bus interface, and if needed an sentry key bypass (if you have a grey key) for $325, $300 w/o a grey key. If your looking to keep the factory remote due to it has features like driver door unlock then the rest and panic, that can all be put onto a 552t remote start. If you like for $400 I'll wire it all together before sending to you along with a diagram on where to install what. Let me know and I can get it off to you in less than a week.

The window roll up option on the JDL-PK is referring to those Jeeps that already have that as a factory feature. If you leave you windows down and then arm your Jeep with the factory transmitter, your windows roll up for you. Since you want to add modules to do this, I assume your Jeep does not already do this. If your Jeep did though, then the JDL-PK would allow you to keep that feature when adding a Remote starter and discontinuing use of the factory transmitters.

You don't need the JDL though if you just want to install an add-on remote starter, you would just need the sentry bypass module if you have a gray key (JDL).

themagicone is right though, the range is just as good as you can get now, which is typically no greater than 50 ft. If you go to www.12voltshop.com and buy a starter from them, you can get the JDL or JDL-PK for half off.

This would be your best bet if you just want to add-on a remote starter and still use the factory transmitters you have now. If you Order the CS-324T and the JDL, it will cost you $84 plus shipping. How it would work is you need to connect the external trigger wire to the lock wire on your jeep, so when you press the lock button three time in a row quickly, the car will start. I know that the CS-324T is a complete Unit, but you dont need to use the antenna or the transmitters if you dont want to.

If you have changed your mind and want to get a complete unit because you want better range than your factory transmitters offer, you can get the CS-423 and the JDL-PK for $118 plus shipping. Actually if you get the 423 and the JDL-PK you can still change your mind and just use it as an add-on unit.

You can look at all of the manuals for the starters and the bypass and interface modules at www.bypasskit.com.

You can email me if you have any questions.
