I'd like to install an alpine 150-r to my new 2003 Acura RSX.
I'm going to keep the factory alarm and was hoping to use it's functionality (lock/central lock/light dome light) when arming/disarming from my aftermarket transmitter. I'll use everything else of the alpine alarm like radar/shock/aux channels etc, except locking and dome light (which i'd like to trigger using the factory arm/disarm wires when my alpine is arm/disarmed, arming/disarming both alarms from one transmitter).
Being a newbie w/o experience, I'd imagine I'd use the lock/unlock outputs of my alpine alarm to connect to the arm/disarm wires of the factory alarm so they'd both arm/disarm together? Would this be what a tech would do? I'm not sure if it's fine running the 200mA to them.... Also i don't know what wires the arm/disarm are for an 03 acura rsx. Here is what i found for a 97 honda accord:

What do u guys think? Is this the normal procedure when keeping the factory alarm? If no, what's the normal setup?

*7 May need to use relay in certain applications.
the security control unit is to the left of the steering column.
You should be fine without relays, but if it dosent work you'll need some.

Is what I had in mind, using the lock/unlock leads wires (200mA) from the alpine to arm/disarm the stock alarm what knowledgeable installers usually do? If not then what? Also why a relay? I thought relays were for when I needed more current, if, as u say, i might need one, how much current? And from where?

The relay comment was for something else, not the arm/disarm functions of the alarm. You do not need to use the OEM system if you have the Alpine system wired in properly. The oEM alarm is only a passive alarmanyway ( only triggers when hood,trunk or doors are open ) and the Alpine has the impact and optional glass breakage coverage along with the hood,trunk & door coverage.

I realize that I don't "need" to use the OEM alarm system that that the alpine can do everything, but I would like to keep the OEM system working as I feel 2 alarms are better then one. Also I like the OEM alarm for it's dome light functions, 1) when I arm/disarm it lights up, 2) it stays on until I put the key in the ignition and slowly fades. I realize that I can also wire the alpine to do these things but if they area already done with the OEM why not save some effort, a relay and capacitator and let the OEM do it, I'd just need to arm and disarm OEM when arming/disarming the Alpine alarm. Hence my original question about using the lock/unlock output of the Alpine to arm/disarm the OEM.
I of course intend to use the other alpine features like radar, shock, door/trunk sensing and the aux outputs (windows). I just am going to use the stock to unlock the doors and also sense opening of door/trunk.
Is what i have in mind taboo? Should I take some other route? Logically I feel it should work and is a plausible solution, however like I said I don't have the car alarm experience to know for certain.
