I am new to forum and I really have no idea about car alarms, I was hoping to get some help from people that might know what they were doing.
I have an 02 Honda Civic that I bought with a Clifford G4 system previously installed in the vehicle. The problem is that both the remotes I have are worn out... they have zero range and sometime the buttons don't even work. There has been multiple times I have been locked out of my car because the remote wouldn't work and 15 min later it decided it does... I have changed batteries in the remotes and that is not the problem.
I was recently given a brand new Viper 350HV system as a gift and I am curious if the system is worth spending the money to install or should I be trying to find a replacement remote for my current alarm. I guess what I would like to know is which system is better, because in the end I will probably spend the same amount of money with either option.
So if you have a choice, the Clifford G4 or a Viper 350HV??

Frankly G4 was much better build quality. With G4 remotes, look at the battery housing on the board. It came loose, resolder, change batteries and away you go.

i vote viper 350hv, the remote fix is as easy as the g4 as mentioned by howie, they are durable, reliable and trustworthy, the system will give you years of trouble free use, except for maintenance of the remotes, batteries and minor repairs etc, it also has an excellent car-jacking system, which i can also walk you throug., Mr.buttuls if you had a meter and some small tools around i would be glad to help you do it yourself on your car, it's a piece of cake, if your'e interested of course. cheers

I was a bit confused which you really thought was better because you mention that I could fix the remote... do you think I should install the new Viper 350HV or fix the remote on the G4 currently installed... just wanted to clairify sorry.

install the new system, you won't be dissapointed, i have been installing it for years, the problems are few and far in between once installed properly.
