I installed my alarm on my 98 neon and it works fine. The only problem is the door locks seem to be "weak".
At first only the front doors would lock/unlock with the remote. The rear doors seem to be unaffected.
Now after a month or so the front passenger door does not lock properly. The lock would not go all the way down.

The car has power door locks and they lock/unlock all the doors perfectly no problem. So its the alarm set up giving problems.

I used this set up to assemble the relays for the locks: https://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/5wap.gif

I tapped into the door lock wires at the driver kick panel 16 pin connector.

What could be my problem?

it sounds as if you have the wrong wires. do you remember what colors you used?

ORANGE / purple should be lock

pink/purple should be unlock

how did the wires meter when you tested them? did you use a meter to test them?

with a meter:
pink/purple went to 12V when lock was activated via door switch
ORANGE / purple went to 12v when unlock was activated

Those are the wires the Haynes Manual listed as the door lock/unlock.

yes but did you confirm that through testing them? there may be another set of wires you need to get that happen to be the same colors, or.....the relay setup could be wrong. with only one of the wires that you think to be the ones, disconnect it from its corresponding relay so that you have to halves of the wire but do not connect them, operate the switch and tell us how the locks  behave.

Do you have a 451M on hand to try inplace of the relay setup that you tried??

look over your wiring and make sure everything is good, wiring to 12volts is properly connected and such.

I did look over the wiring and everything seems fine.

The driver's door lock and unlocks with the alarm as it should. The front passenger unlocks like it should but seems to not get enough "juice" to lock.

The rear doors are unaffected:(

I'll check over the wiring again when it stop raining

The basic concept behind door alarms is to create an electrical circuit. In some cases, the circuit is closed when the door is closed. This allows electricity to flow back and forth between the two contact points. When the door is opened, the circuit is broken and the alarm sounds. In other cases, the opening of the door actually closes the circuit, sounding the alarm.security
