I installed a Python 991 in my 08 F150 FX4 and am having some issues.

The problem is the remote start will only work if the truck has the door open. I havent tried door open and armed. Once I shut the door the truck dies. I installed two diodes for the front doors both going to the common green wire on the brain for the (-) door trigger. The security system is working door locks lock and unlock no problem and with the door shut the alarm will go off if I set it.

With the door shut if I press the start button I get 8 flashes. Im trying to understand what is goin on here. The door trigger wires Im connected to are BLACK / YELLOW (drivers) and BLACK/ pink (pass). Any idea on whats goin on here??

Thanks

John

I forgot to mention I added a 10K resistor going from 12V constant to the (-) door trigger. In my info it states if you dont do this the BCM will send out a pulse and trigger the alarm after 30 min and this solves the problem. I dont have any issues with the alarm goin off but this issue so it is working. Any ideas??

did you test the wires you are hooked up to should be 12v with door shut and 0v with door open i would think the problem would be your door triggers    theres a black blue wire in the drivers kick panel its a positive trigger this is what i use

What I did was put my DVOM on continuity. Wiith the door closed no continuity but once I opened the door I had continuity. I wired that to the (-) trigger input.

Hey man thanks so much I grounded that wire out and the system is working perfectly. I guess Ill wire that resistor back in so the alarm doesnt go off in 30 minutes. Have you ever heard of that? Thanks again for all the help!!
